Emma Nisbet

Emma Nisbet is an exciting up-and-coming comedy scriptwriter and experienced script editor, with a background in comedy production and development who, in 2012, was named as a Funny Women comedy writing awards 'one to watch'. She was recently featured on the inaugural CTBF Betty and Peter List, recognising 10 of the most exceptional un-produced comedy writers entered in the Betty Box and Peter Rogers Comedy Writing Programme, in partnership with Big Talk Productions and LOCO (The London Comedy Film Festival).

On the adult comedy side, she currently has a 30' script in active development with Retort. She also has had an original comedy idea under option to NBC Universal's Lucky Giant and was commissioned by BBC Comedy to write a 10 minute original comedy script for online transmission. She has worked on CBBC's THE SLAMMER and written material for a number of radio and television sketch shows, including LUCY MONTGOMERY'S VARIETY PACK, BEARDED LADIES and a puppet show pilot with Hat Trick. As a script editor she has worked extensively with BBC Comedy, on shows including BLUESTONE 42 for BBC3, RUDY'S RARE RECORDS for BBC1 and PUPPY LOVE for BBC4. In a development role she has worked across programmes for Eleven Film, Roughcut and with Talkback Thames.

Emma also writes for children's TV and has recently written on WAFFLE THE WONDERDOG for CBeebies/Darrall Macqueen, and a new animated series for Darrall Macqueen and Netflix. Other recent work includes NODDY TOYLAND DETECTIVE for Dreamworks, WISSPER Series 2 for Milkshake, and new projects with Zodiak Kids and Fun Union. She has also recently written on CBBC's DANGERMOUSE and Nick Jr's NELLA THE PRINCESS KNIGHT for Brown Bag Films. She has written on the third series of the BAFTA award winning CBeebies show SWASHBUCKLE, on three series of CBBC sketch show CLASS DISMISSED, and on the sixth series of the CBeebies pre-school show SHOW ME SHOW ME.
